Anyone notice...
... that the Red Box page has been modified? Or was that there last week (it contains a past keyword, I believe).
The linkable image now leads to an Agents of Atlas page: http://agentsofatlas.com/victrola.html
There is a hidden letter "e" on that page.

Old Trails
I checked out www.silverbulletcomics.com and found another article.
http://www.silverbulletcomics.com/news/story.php?a=1894
The old keyword Death Ray linked to:
http://agentsofatlas.com/enigma.html
If you highlight the blue box you find the letter "M"
I think we'll have to follow up on old trails to find old keywords that will lead us to the letters that form the newest keyword.
Posted by SlymCyke on 2006-09-07 16:08:44
and on Newsarama...
on the "About" page, at the very bottom where the greek letters once appeared, now says, "MOJAVE" -- which links to the letter "C"

i wonder...
if u would come back awesome

Another clue
I went to the wordballoon link and got this
http://agentsofatlas.com/gort.html
and the hidden letter "a"
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-07 20:23:16
Another clue
I went to the article http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/715/715218p1.html
and it takes you to
http://agentsofatlas.com/maritime.html and this
gives you the letter "s"
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-07 20:33:24
another one
I went to http://www.impulsecreations.net/catalog/info_pages.php/pages_id/282
another agents of atlas page and i got the letter "p"
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-07 20:42:06
So Far.....
So the letters so far that we have gotten are:
EMCASP
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-07 20:50:50
a wild guess
that we're looking for the letters A and N next ;)
Posted by doop1958 on 2006-09-07 23:11:37
more old trails
i follow the old trails
http://www.comicbloc.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=363&Itemid=92 is now titled 'TEMUJIN and features a red convertible and the line 'tell the dupes this', but i couldn't find a letter on the page :(
Posted by doop1958 on 2006-09-07 23:23:19
ignore part of the above
i realised the red convertible is part of an old clue. :(
Posted by doop1958 on 2006-09-07 23:33:26
Really.
Are you sure about that, Doop?
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-08 01:21:17
Letters/Keywords (including missing ones)
OK, so basically the keywords are anagrams. If each keyword is a letter, and we're looking for A and N for the first word - then that can be rearranged as SPACEMAN (so that's eight of the twelve keywords out of the way).
Now this is just a very wild guess, but I've been thinking of space related words which are only four letters (for the rest of the keywords) - so far I've got MOON or MARS floating around my head - now to find the letters to prove me wrong (or right).
Mr. Lao - I shall miss our weekly game.
Your humble servant.
Posted by CommercialInn on 2006-09-08 03:15:26
On the red convertible page (http://www.comicbloc.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=363&Itemid=92), hovering over the image now yields the phrase "remove sled," rather than "tell the dupes this." Hmmn... perhaps we'll have to take s-l-e-d out of the completed anagram before solving it... or, "remove sled" could be an anagram itself. But I suck at those, so someone else figure it out. :)
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-08 06:46:34
Oh-ho, here's another! Going back to the Invaders Message Board from the "bullet hit the key" puzzle, there's a post by "Magar":
http://www.comicboards.com/invaders/view.php?rpl=060907212639&q=magar
Which links to:
http://agentsofatlas.com/herring.html
Revealing another hidden letter "C."
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-08 06:51:10
Also - have to go to work now, so I can't do any more of these for a while, more's the pity - someone should probably put a list together of each keyword and what letter we've got from them. Might make it easier for us to then find the missing ones.
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-08 07:02:58
i think C is wrong...
it IS written on a red page titled 'herring' after all ;)
Posted by doop1958 on 2006-09-08 07:44:50
Temujin
Doop, remove SLED from EDSEL and you get an "e"
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-08 08:11:46
So Far
Atomic Age-s
Aphrodite-c
Temujin-e
Death Ray-m
Mojave-c
Master Plan-a
Uranus-p
So that would leave Flying Saucer, Borax, Sputnik,Splashdown, and Cosmic Rays left to get.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-08 08:16:50
SPLASHDOWN
http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=7324
This old article on Comic Book Resources has the keyword SPLASHDOWN at the end of the article. This leads to the page:
http://agentsofatlas.com/sleuth.html
and the letter "A"
Posted by SlymCyke on 2006-09-08 08:47:53
Cosmic Rays
I forgot to add Cosmic Rays -e
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-08 10:29:40
I realised my "edsel" goof as soon as I had shut down the computer and stepped out the front door, naturally. Really wanted to run back in and correct myself, but I would've been late for work. I think I was overthinking that one a bit!
Right, so... SCEMCAPAE, with one the C's possibly a red herring, and only Flying Saucer, Borax and Sputnik to go...
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-08 14:18:34
Another Section.
You have already found most of the pieces of the puzzle, so in case I become occupied with Foundation duties this weekend, I have released a bit more of the mission. Has everyone procured a copy of AGENTS OF ATLAS 2 yet?
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-08 16:57:57
Only a few left
I think the word might be SPACE MENACE? We would only need two more letters.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-08 17:54:03
"Space Menace" would certainly fit with what's happening in the second part of the mission, but there should be *three* more letters to find... menaceS? :)
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-08 18:24:03
Agents of Atlas # 2
I really enjoyed the issue. I liked the Venus paper at the end of the issue too. I found it quite a coincidence that the author of the paper ties into this secret mission.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-08 20:40:48
Getting there...
There are FOUR letters left to go if my calculations are correct.
Atomic Age-s
Aphrodite-c
Temujin-e
Death Ray-m
Mojave-c
Master Plan-a
Uranus-p
And that would leave
Flying Saucer
Borax
Sputnik
Splashdown
Nhartz, you said you 'clicked a link' that lead you to www.agentsofatlas.com the first time. Maybe that link leads somewhere else now? This eventually gave us the Splashdown codeword. Can you retrace your steps again?
Posted by KRB NRG on 2006-09-09 18:15:05
It would appear that the Foundation is having inter-net difficulties again, because the letter for Splashdown was found, and the post has vanished. T'was an A.
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-09 20:52:20
I Know...
I knew there were three letters left, it must have slipped my mind. I was trying to figure out what words I could make out of those letters. Do you think it will be SPACE MENACES? I have been trying to find the last three and I have been thinking what sites we were led to and all I can think of is Wizarduniverse, The Pulse, and Jinxworld. I haven't found anything on those yet.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-09 22:45:18
The link
The link in the passage was
promoting the comic
and all that led to was http://agentsofatlas.com and that just takes you to the agents of atlas page now.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-09 22:49:54
Splashdown
I can't remember who posted it, KRB NRG, but the page was
http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=7324
and the SPLASHDOWN link to you to
http://www.agentsofatlas.com/sleuth.html which fave us an "a"
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-09 22:56:01
Borax
I found this at Jinx.
"We hope you all enjoyed number 2. And by the way, BORAX. (http://agentsofatlas.com/spinach.html) "
The letter is L.

Sputnik
I was re-checking this article from Wizard Universe:
http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/wizard/000818970.cfm
and found the word Sputnik at the bottom.
It sent me here:
http://agentsofatlas.com/jellyroll.html
the leter is E.
I guess this just leaves Flying Saucer.
Posted by jshelmig on 2006-09-11 00:42:09
Flying Saucer
I found it her at the pulse:
http://www.comicon.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=36;t=005357
It leads here: http://agentsofatlas.com/experiment.html
The letter is N.
Posted by jshelmig on 2006-09-11 00:51:53
So.
It looks as if everything has been found. Now to put it in order! Of course, something may need to be left out...
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-11 01:41:50
Atomic Age-s
Aphrodite-c
Temujin-e
Death Ray-m
Mojave-c
Master Plan-a
Uranus- p
Flying Saucer - n
Borax - l
Sputnik - e
Splashdown - a
i think the aphrodite clue is a red herring
that leaves aelnpacmes
or if we leave out L we get the predicted SPACE MENACE
Posted by doop1958 on 2006-09-11 07:08:24
Clues within clues...
So we have clues hidden on secret pages of www.agentsofatlas.com.
Could someone compile a list of those pages? Some of the words used to title those pages are interesting. All seem to be real words, except 'Gort'. However Gort was the name of the robot from 'Day the Earth Stood Still'. As much as M-11 resembles Gort, so too does the new Silver Bullet in the comic resemble the ship in that same movie. Kind of interesting.
But a list of those pages may reveal either another clue, or at least a better guess as to which letter to kick out. (Although I think it's the "L" as well.)

"or if we leave out L we get the predicted SPACE MENACE"
here's hoping, i dont think i can take anymore jumping back and forth from random page to random page. that took a LOT out of me, especially tryna get there before everyone else. had fun though!
Posted by dp_lombardo on 2006-09-11 10:53:38
Lombardo Holds His Ground!
And you are right to. SPACE MENACE is our final key. Can anyone think of why the L clue didn't count?
I shall post the rest of our agent's adventure tomorrow, a "curtain call" of sorts. As I mentioned The Atlas Foundation cannot spare more time devising deadly chases for you all, and I think we've found a healthy base of top agents with this exercise. Yet, I do have more confiscated files documenting other missions of Jimmy Woo's team. If there seems to be sufficient interest in merely reading another, then I could be persuaded to release one soon. Does my loyal council have any thoughts on this?
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-11 12:18:23
Noel
The reason there was 'no L' is because BORAX was the clue we got from the 'Liar', not the 'truth-teller'.
And personally, I would LOVE to read more adventures of this team set in the late 1950's. I think that would make a nice addition to www.agentsofatlas.com .
This has been great fun. Thank you, Mr. Lao for your efforts. If you will be attending the WIZARD WORLD:TEXAS show (in disguise, of course), I would love to meet with you. Brent Erwin at the registration booth (Or Ape-Entertainment) knows my real identity.
I will await further missions. Until then, I guess it's time to get back to the LOST ARG.
Everyone take care,
---KRB NRG (aka Mole´)

The Liar, indeed!
Exactly, KRB NRG.
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-11 15:33:57
Great!!!
I would love to read more of their adventures. So the final key was SPACE MENACE. That was the only thing I thought it could be, even though we were missing some letters. Sorry I jumped the gun back there, Mr. Lao. I look forward to reading Agents of Atlas, the rest of this mission, and any more you have. These are a great group of characters and hope they stay around.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-11 20:27:40
You Are Prescient.
Can you help it if your deductive abilities are superior to most? It is the combined brainpower here that will assure the Atlas Foundation's dominance in years to come!
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-11 22:16:28
Thanks again, Timely and Mr. Lao.
We all had a blast - here's hoping for more sometime in the future
peace
Posted by dp_lombardo on 2006-09-12 08:36:11
Agh, man, it sucks that its over already, but it was great fun while it lasted. I'm curious to see how - if at all - this whole thing connects to the comic itself (we did have that "Temujin" bit, after all), and would definitely look forward to reading more missions. :)
Posted by Chris McFeely on 2006-09-12 09:42:13
The next part
This is really getting interesting. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. Thanks Mr. Lao for doing this.
Posted by nhartz on 2006-09-12 21:14:35
FANTASTIC FINISH! Hope there are other "declassified" files in the near future... My compliments, Mr. Lao.
Posted by msr.oresteus on 2006-09-14 12:07:02
Great Ending!
I really enjoyed this! The searching for keywords, reading the mission logs, everything was a lot of fun. Thanks for doing all of this, Mr. Lao! I can't wait to see and read more of Mr. Woo's Agents.

Mr Lao
Thank You for taking the time to train us. I hope we will get a chance to read more mission briefings.
Will we ever get to "see" you?
Posted by kuyu001 on 2006-09-19 12:56:01
You Will Indeed.
In Issue 6 of Agents of Atlas, you will have a very close look at me!
More 1958 missions coming soon...
Posted by mr. lao on 2006-09-19 15:51:56
I'm glad we had this time together...
...as Carol Burnett used to say.
Thanks to Mr.Lao, Timely Comics, the creators of Agents of Atlas, and all the websites that you hacked along the way!
This was a most enjoyable experience and one that I hope we can do again some time. Maybe a 'special event' issue or something?
This is KRB NRG signing off.
