Hmm...
Thanks for the update Wacker. Also, I am wondering why the admins are worried about a video when the FORUMS are in a perpetual state of disrepair now thanks to the recent glitches that surfaced. If you can, would you please pass a note to the web guys to FIX THE BOARDS! Thanks. :)
Are there any previews for Secret Invasion Spider-Man perchance? Solicits?

Proofs
Wacker!
I'm not sure I understand the lettering process... what changes can happen from the time the writer writes the script to the time the lettering is put on the page?
Thanks!

@potterroyale
I may be just a lowly intern, but Steve's a busy guy (contrary to the popular beliefs held by many Haterade-drinkin' message boards, no, comic books do not put themselves out; they take quite a bit of hard work), so maybe I can help answer your question.
As you can probably imagine, the road to a "finished" comic is a long and arduous one, with countless (well, maybe not "countless," but there are quite a few, I swear) steps between writing and publishing. In fact, by the time your favorite book has been penciled, inked, colored, and lettered into existence, there's a good chance that it's an entirely different animal than what the writer originally envisioned.
So that's where lettering (and other) tweaks come in; some lines may be massaged so that balloons will fit properly on the page (it's tougher than you think), some lines may fall flatter than expected when paired with the art, maybe in the weeks/months since the writer first submitted the script, he/she has come up with an awesome new SFX (KRAKATHABOOM!!! is a personal fav), or maybe it's just that an error was made somewhere along the line (comic creators are human, too, ya know).
Hopefully that long-winded response helps answer your question a bit. But if not, c'mon, what were you expecting? I'm just an intern.

@eric
Thanks, Eric! (Didn't actually think my question would be answered... gee, Wacker DOES work you hard, doesn't he?) Krakathaboom is indeed a great sound effect, very original. Any chance we'll be seeing it in a Spidey comic anytime soon? Anyway, make mine Marvel!
