The Assassin was an android construction built by Apocalypse to infiltrate the organizations of men of power and assassinate them. On its first mission for its creator, the Assassin infiltrated the Sub-Mariner's company, Oracle, Inc., but was defeated by Namor. Seeing his creation as a failure, the Assassin was abandoned by Apocalypse.
