Lucas Bishop remembers little of his past. During the early days of his career, Bishop was critically injured chasing down a mutant criminal named Fitzroy escaping into Hell's Kitchen. Bishop killed Fitzroy in an intense showdown, but sustained a severe head injury. In a coma for close to three weeks, Bishop finally recovered but awoke with severe memory loss.

After months of rehab, Bishop returned to his rightful place on the mutant-filled New York police force. While he has been an exemplary officer since his return, his superiors have noticed his obsession with researching his past. Oddly enough, Bishop's records are missing, and with no known family in the area, it seems possible Bishop may never discover where he truly came from.
